2024 Students2Work
The 2024 Students2Work Internship Program is officially underway. Students2Work is a partnership between the Augusta Metro Chamber and the Richmond County School System to place high school rising juniors and seniors and graduating seniors into 6-week paid internships. This year 40 students will be supported by 22 host and sponsoring employers and began their pre-employment soft skills training on May 30th on the campus of Augusta Technical College. The students began each day with assembly speakers including Mayor Garnett Johnson, Superintendent Dr. Ken Bradshaw, Dr. Tony Robinson with Sparq and Teresa Cobb with Georgia Power. In addition to classroom time spent on subjects such as workplace ethics, attendance and attitude, students also had a tour of ATC and finished the week with a celebration luncheon with their host employers. Students start their first week on the job this week and conclude their internship on July 9th.
