More than 40 leaders, including Mayor Davis of Augusta, Mayor Pettit of North Augusta, Mayor Osbon of Aiken and Commission Chairman Duncan of Columbia County, will travel to our nation’s capital to gain insight on issues affecting our community, obtain updates from key officials and institutions, and advocate on behalf of our region. Trip participants, both public and private sector business leaders from the CSRA, will travel to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for an issue briefing and legislative update, as well as visit the U.S. Department of Energy. At the U.S. Capitol, specific groups will meet with Legislative Directors and Chiefs of Staff from Congressional offices, and take meetings with Senators and Representatives from Georgia and South Carolina.

Leaving Tuesday, October 22 and spanning three days, the trip will also feature briefings from American Defense International, Inc.; National Association of Realtors; U.S. Department of Education; Anne Arundel County Economic Development Corporation; Fort Meade Alliance; and U.S. Army Cyber Command. The perfect opportunity for local business leaders to network and build upon each other’s successes, this trip will also allocate time for individual discussions and group conversations.

The 2019 CSRA Leadership Trip is hosted by the Aiken, Augusta Metro, Columbia County and North Augusta Chambers of Commerce, and is made possible by our 2019 sponsors AECOM, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, Savannah River Site and Savannah River Nuclear Solutions.
