All About the Mission - January 10
As we enter the first week of the Georgia General Assembly, the Augusta Metro Chamber is poised to ensure the voice of our region’s business community will be heard. As many of our members know, the Chamber has a dedicated on-the-ground consultant under the golden dome during session that is dedicated to monitoring legislation and interacting with our delegation on behalf of the needs of our stakeholders. Together with a framework of policy positions, our presence in Atlanta is a critical strategy in order to maneuver quickly, educate legislators and advocate for the best needs of Augusta.
In addition to these efforts, we are adding a new tool to our toolbox in 2022 that will merge our voice with that of 11 other MSA cities across Georgia to address policy in 4 areas. Whether you are a business in Columbus, Albany, Macon or Augusta, advocating for unified policy that improves all of Georgia is essential. Policy priorities for the HUB Chamber Council for 2022-23 will be infrastructure, housing, workforce and fiscal policy. The HUB Chamber Council will hold weekly meetings to discuss both reactive and proactive responses to legislation being considered in these areas of policy.
